“Maybe I never said it but,”
(Commissioned by Joyce for my Mom, Annie)

Mom, maybe I never said it but, I really appreciate you
I appreciate the things that you did for me that I could not do for myself
You took time for me when you could have been doing something for yourself
You showed me love whether I deserved it or not—thank you Mom

Mom, maybe I never said it but, I really love you
I love you because you have done more for me than anyone in the world
I love you because you have never given up on me—you never wavered
I love you because I’m not perfect but that was okay—you loved me anyway

“Mom, you are what love is”
(Commissioned by James for Mom, Roslyn)

I have learned so much from you Mom; I have much more to learn
I have observed your strengths and have tried to emulate them
I have wanted to be the man that would make you very proud
I now know I have to grow into that which is your dream

Mom I want to be the man you want me to be
I want to be the man that will make you proud
I want to be the man that is righteous and moral
I want to be the man that raises children the way you raised me
